A Brother in the Lord Jesus at peace and at home with the Lord Jesus.

Last year my dear friend and brother in-law passed away rather quickly. I miss him and often think about his words of encouragement and his strong confidence in the Lord. This man Mike Conley was about pleasing God rather than men. His rebukes were with sweetness guiding your steps in focus to Jesus. He will be remembered for His strength that he relied on from Jesus. He left behind a ex-wife which so happens to be my sister, which was a tragic point in their lives. 4 beautiful children all grown with lives of their own.  Mike waited and remarried to a wonderful woman Rose 1 year and 4 months later Mike passed away.

Mike and Sarah

This is Mike with daughter Alison before passing away.

I remember one thing that I will never forget about Mike and that was his sermon he gave about the 2 on the road to Emmaus.

Luke 24:13-35 (KJV)
13  And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem about threescore furlongs.
14  And they talked together of all these things which had happened.
15  And it came to pass, that, while they communed together and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them.
16  But their eyes were holden that they should not know him.
17  And he said unto them, What manner of communications are these that ye have one to another, as ye walk, and are sad?
18  And the one of them, whose name was Cleopas, answering said unto him, Art thou only a stranger in Jerusalem, and hast not known the things which are come to pass there in these days?
19  And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people:
20  And how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him to be condemned to death, and have crucified him.
21  But we trusted that it had been he which should have redeemed Israel: and beside all this, to day is the third day since these things were done.
22  Yea, and certain women also of our company made us astonished, which were early at the sepulchre;
23  And when they found not his body, they came, saying, that they had also seen a vision of angels, which said that he was alive.
24  And certain of them which were with us went to the sepulchre, and found it even so as the women had said: but him they saw not.
25  Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken:
26  Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory?
27  And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
28  And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they went: and he made as though he would have gone further.
29  But they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is far spent. And he went in to tarry with them.
30  And it came to pass, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them.
31  And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight.
32  And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?
33  And they rose up the same hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and them that were with them,
34  Saying, The Lord is risen indeed, and hath appeared to Simon.
35  And they told what things were done in the way, and how he was known of them in breaking of bread.

Mike said,” that Jesus did not leave these two to wonder much longer, their thirst was quenched like the woman at the well. To think now we have a risen Savior in the Lord Jesus that cared for these 2 men and spent a little time in the scriptures and to fully reveal Himself. The love that the Lord has went beyond His own Apostles reaching out two men that did not fully understand. This was Christ Jesus our Lords passion to save all from death, damnation and hell. The Lord would have gone further to finish line. Jesus did that in breaking of bread and giving thanks for their eyes were opened. Oh how our hearts would burn within us to sit with the Lord and eat a meal He has prepared. Having the Lord near and speaking to our hearts and minds never having to wonder or doubt. Being in His presents and safety”

This what Mike wanted more than anything was to see the Lord and hear Him and be in His presents and safety. Mikes desire was to be with the Lord Jesus. I write this much love for Mike and our beloved Lord Jesus who we will all meet someday. In times of doubt and wonder come back to this scripture and think about if this was you with the Lord Jesus.

Dear Brother Mike we will meet again and listen to the Lord Jesus together.

The Spirit of Love Constrained to Obedience in Christ Jesus.

Pure Love

Master, which is the great commandment in the law? 37  Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second islike unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.

Matt 22:36-40 (KJV)

He came to fulfil the law

17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. 18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Matt 5:17-18 (KJV)

And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams. 23 For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the Lord, he hath also rejected thee from being king.

1 Sam 15:22-23 (KJV) My Notes: Pride and stubbornness will bring us to fall.

Love being the full measure of the Law that Jesus came to fulfill. By faith in Christ Jesus we as Christians should mirror this love in our rememberance to our savior. Our truth in repentence and worship should also reflect our love,  allowing the Lord to chastise us from our convienent sins unto removal. Loving all mankind and brethren, sheding light towards the direction of walking with the Lord.

Jesus Has The Full Measure

For he whom God hath sent speaketh the words of God: for God giveth not the Spirit by measure unto him. 35 The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.

John 3:34-35 (KJV) My Notes: Unbound limits or having no limit whatsoever. Jesus being of one mind with God to the purpose of the cross.

Knowing in Christ Jesus having unlimit of measure by mans comprehension that far exceeds our expectation. Being the full expression of LOVE, LAW and SPIRIT. Mankind only received a measure of faith and our comprehension is shortened when our eyes are not single looking at what the Lord did for those who believe towards the worlds salvation. To love even our enemies

43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbour, and hate thine enemy. 44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; 45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

Matt 5:43-45 (KJV) My Notes: Giving yourself as a instrument of Gods love and to be completely spent. Being controlled by the sprit of God and yeild your body to edification.

Knowing the natural man of God only sows the word of God. Pray’s for the increase of God to quicken the heart and mind of those who do not believe Jesus as Son of God. The final sacrificial Lamb of God predestined for our salvation.

Repentance brings forgiveness and leads to salvation.

Repentance brings forgiveness and leads to salvation.

No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

Matt 6:24 (KJV) MY Note: You cannot have it both ways. Flee from sin and cling on to that which is good.

God is good, Jesus is good.

We cannot claim to be in the spirit of love without yeilding to Gods will. We cannot claim the love of God and operate in vile affections of lust, envy and strife.

John 10 Shows the love Jesus had for the Flock.

John 14 Comfort and if you LOVE me keep my commandments. LOVE and OBEDIENCE.

John 15: 9;13 Love one another as Jesus loves you.

For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

Romans 13:9-10 (KJV) Love being the full measure of the fulfillment of the LAW. Paul agrees with Jesus.

Love working NO ILL towards your neighbor, fleeing from fleshly desires of lust and unnatural use of man or woman. Romans 1 whole chapter.

For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:

2 Cor 5:14 (KJV) MY Notes: Love being our own chastisement. Constrained from the things that we may want to do but don’t do, because our love for Christ is greater. OBEDIENCE.

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

2 Cor 5:17-18 (KJV)

And I will very gladly spend and be spent for you; though the more abundantly I love you, the less I be loved

2 Cor 12:15 (KJV) MY Notes: Learn Obedience in Love for Christ Jesus. Be spent in all for the love of God.

Battle of Self.

For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. 18 But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.

Gal 5:17-18 (KJV) MY Notes: The Sprit of God is contrary to the natural man operating in the flesh. Keep your eye single on Jesus and operate in the Spirit of Love. Reprobate mind. Timothy 1:9.

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

Gal 5:22-23 (KJV) MY Notes: Love being first atribute mentioned in the verse bearing the most significant. Showing through all other atributes the patients and control or obedience to the truth in Jesus.

By elaboration of Paul in agreement with Jesus and God we see a larger corelation. Separation from sin must be engaged for The Man of God to experience and enjoy His walk with the Lord in love. The new creature will manifest that love and all other atributes of the spirit. This is continued or practiced achievement by continued repentance and prayer. Believing every second of breath of life that Jesus has and will deliver you from sin. Saving your life from eternal damnation and punishment. Building your relationship with God.

Keep Your Eyes On Jesus.

Welcome

Who is God

The Earth

In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.

Gen 1:1-2 (KJV)

1st we see God as creator of all things in the world. 2nd we see God as a spirit living.

Burning Fire
Consuming Fire

For the Lord thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.

Deut 4:24 (KJV)

Fire is hot and can burn very much. Fire can also refine metal and pottery clay into vessels of use.  Fire can be good as well.

Salvation
Salvation from death.

The Lord is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father’s God, and I will exalt him.

Ex 15:2 (KJV)

The strength of God must be very great to create the world and deliver the sinner from death.

God from on high
God Almighty

Know therefore that the Lord thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations;

Deut 7:9 (KJV)

I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live: 20 That thou mayest love the Lord thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.

Deut 30:19-20 (KJV)

This is significant because nothing is like God! He is our life and gives each of us the length of life.  Also notice the instruction to cleave on to God and to choose life. Oh may we choose life by repentance.

The Salvation in Jesus foretold by the prophets of Israel.

Creation man in the image of God

26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness:

Gen 1:26 (KJV) My Notes: To know the love God had for man, to make man  in His divine image. Who was God speaking with when He said, “Let us make man”,? He was with His Son Jesus before He was born of the natural.

Doth not wisdom cry? and understanding put forth her voice? 2 She standeth in the top of high places, by the way in the places of the paths. 3 She crieth at the gates, at the entry of the city, at the coming in at the doors. 4 Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of man. 5 O ye simple, understand wisdom: and, ye fools, be ye of an understanding heart. 6 Hear; for I will speak of excellent things; and the opening of my lips shall be right things. 7 For my mouth shall speak truth; and wickedness is an abomination to my lips. 8 All the words of my mouth are in righteousness; there is nothing froward or perverse in them. 9 They are all plain to him that understandeth, and right to them that find knowledge. 10 Receive my instruction, and not silver; and knowledge rather than choice gold. 11 For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.

the nature

12 I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions. 13 The fear of the Lord is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate. 14 Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength. 15 By me kings reign, and princes decree justice. 16 By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth. 17 I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me. 18 Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness. 19 My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver. 20 I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment: 21 That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures.

and the eternity of wisdom

22 The Lord possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old. 23 I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was. 24 When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water. 25 Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth: 26 While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world. 27 When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth: 28 When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep: 29 When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth: 30 Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him; 31 Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men.

Wisdom is to be desired for the blessedness it brings

32 Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways. 33 Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not. 34 Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors. 35 For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the Lord. 36 But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.

Prov 8:1-36 (KJV) My Notes: Solomon speaking in spirit of the Lord Jesus coming and knowing wisdom. Jesus with God before the foundations of the earth were made. Again pointing to seeking the Lord and His council before mens. Finding the Lord Jesus we find life.

David sustains his faith by the power of God

A Psalm of David.

1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

Psalms 27:1 (KJV) My Notes: David knew the Lord and followed His faith in the Lord.

Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions. 2 Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. 3 For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me. 4 Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest. 5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me. 6 Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom. 7 Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. 8 Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice. 9 Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities. 10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. 11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me. 12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit. 13 Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee. 14 Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness. 15 O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise. 16 For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering. 17 The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.

Psalms 51:1-17 (KJV) My Notes: David seeking the Lord in repentance of sin. David recognizing the Lord desires a broken spririt and contrite heart. The true worshipers shall worship in spirit and truth. The broken spirit, for the Lord to make intercession, and bring from the heart truth. Repentance.

The Sacrifice of Jesus told of Isaiah in the spirit.

Christ’s kingdom shall be exalted

13 Behold, my servant shall deal prudently, he shall be exalted and extolled, and be very high. 14 As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men: 15 So shall he sprinkle many nations; the kings shall shut their mouths at him: for that which had not been told them shall they see; and that which they had not heard shall they consider.

Isaiah 52:13-15 (KJV)

The prophet, complaining of unbelief, gives reasons for the shame of the cross

1 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed? 2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. 3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

Christ’s passion foretold

4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. 5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. 7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. 8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. 9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.

and the sacrifice of the Righteous Servant

10 Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand. 11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. 12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.

Isaiah 53:1-12 (KJV) My Notes: What Jesus went through physically and  mentally dividing all aspects of His life. Again notice the connection of His mouth and David asking the Lord to open His Mouth. No deceit in His mouth. Pure heart speaking in truth only and David understanding this basic function must come from God.

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. 19 If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land: 20 But if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.

Isaiah 1:18-20 (KJV)My Notes: The promise before Christ was born. Isaiah speaking of the Lord to remove all sin from man and soul. The sword being the word of God Heb 4:12. The comand coming from the mouth of the Lord.

The Crucifixion of the Lord in all 4 Gospells of the Bible.

All being of individual in nature. Showing Jesus death and resurection. Matthew 26 to end of book. Mark 14 to end of book. Luke 22 to end of book. John 18 to end of book. Jesus shares His purpose to die for the sins of the world. with the 12 Apostles 3 times in Matthews gospel.

Jesus The Lamb of God

And led him away to Annas first; for he was father in law to Caiaphas, which was the high priest that same year. 14 Now Caiaphas was he, which gave counsel to the Jews, that it was expedient that one man should die for the people.

John 18:13-14 (KJV)The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

John 1:29 (KJV)

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. 18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

John 3:16-18 (KJV)

This is where the faith in Jesus comes in. Like Abraham, his faith was counted unto him as righteousness. Belief and faith are the same the only difference, faith is the action Christians take based on belief in Christ.

That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. 10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Romans 10:9-10 (KJV)

For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Romans 3:23 (KJV)

For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 6:23 (KJV)

The binding tie showing the action of convincing and conviction of heart. Knowing mankind to be dead in sin and to accept the remedy in Christ Jesus by belief unto repentance. This is a work of God in the heart of man seeking the Lord.

Why wait any further seek the Lord Jesus today.

Ask God to reveal His Son Jesus. Become a Man of God like Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

As a fellow worker with Christ, Paul asks them not to accept God’s grace and then waste it

1 We then, as workers together with him, beseech you also that ye receive not the grace of God in vain. 2 (For he saith, I have heard thee in a time accepted, and in the day of salvation have I succoured thee: behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.)

2 Cor 6:1-2 (KJV)
